Whippoorwill Point:
From the source of the hot springs, located just past the Harrison
Hot Springs Hotel, a 5 km loop trail goes to Whippoorwill Point and
back. The entrance to the trail is behind the yellow cement structure
that holds the hot springs water. It brings you around to the Harrison
River which is frequented by eagles and seals.
Unnamed Dog Walking Trail:
Walking east along the beach front brings you to Rendall park.
Walking through Rendall park and taking a left at the road brings
you to the Art Gallery. Taking a right at the road brings you to
the start of a trail that takes you along the base of Bear Mountain.
This trail is great for dog walking and you can exit it at three
different points or, follow it all the way to McPherson road,
(about 3.5 km one way). This trail can also be accessed at the
corner of Eagle St. and Naismith Ave. Apparently, portions of
this trail may cross some private property (although we're not
sure where)... Access may be limited!
Hicks Lake Trail:
A lovely, easy 6 km trail goes around Hicks Lake in Sasquatch
Provincial Park, a 20 minute drive from Harrison Hot Springs.
The trail accesses some isolated beaches and, it's distance
makes if ideal for running enthusiasts.
Information regarding more difficult hikes can be found in the
Harrison Hot Springs Recreation Commission Hiking Guide available
for $14.95 at Serenity Now.
